NO SURFACE

The No Surface Collective is a band of merry members who meet once a week in what is known as "Painting 2." It is in a place called the World, in a city known as New York, and a school known as the New School. You go there too? cool.

In this realm of the unreal, led by Artist and Professor Karin Schneider, we familiarize ourselves with what painting has been, what it is currently, and where it is going.

Our goal is to find our individual artistic identities in order to progress our creative process. We will determine what the term "painting" means to us through experimentation, and observation-- all without hesitation. (aha)

As we know, painting does not always

need a brush, a pigment, or a
